In the first issue of the 2023 Bulletin, Father Kevin introduces a new yearly theme based upon Saint Paul’s teaching in 1 Corinthians 12:12-27. We are all members of Christ’s mystical Body, the Church, created in perfection to live in harmony and unity with one another. No one member is less important or more valuable to the whole. Saint Therese of Lisieux is featured in this issue as a model saint to imitate during Lent. Read about her “Little Way” of love that she believed even very weak souls (like she considered herself to be) could follow to attain the holiness that God desires for each of us. Don’t miss the details of AMM’s 2023 May Procession, scheduled to commence at St. Mary’s of the Barrens (the Shrine Church) at 1:00 p.m. C.T., on Sunday, May 7, here in Perryville, Missouri. Be sure to browse our gift shop’s spring religious items and order Easter cards to send the gift of Masses and prayers to loved ones. Thank you for your Vincentian spirit of humility, charity, and prayer. Know that you are remembered in the daily Mass and prayers by the Vincentian priests and brothers at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.

Sharing the Medal … Praying for You and Yours
The Association of the Miraculous Medal spreads devotion to Jesus through Mary by sharing the Miraculous Medal she entrusted to Saint Catherine Labouré nearly 193 years ago. Throughout 2023, we hope you will send us your special intentions for remembrance in our daily Mass and prayers. You may always burn a Votive Light to express praise and gratitude, or in an appeal for ongoing needs in your life. Request free Miraculous Medals at any time — each medal is presented on a beautiful keepsake card with the Miraculous Medal story.
Our Lady keeps you close to her heart at every moment. Placing yourself in her tender and loving care will bring you nearer to God. Know that you remain in our daily prayers.

Request Perpetual Membership for Yourself or a Loved One
The gift of prayer can change a life. Enrolling yourself or a loved one as a Perpetual Member of the Association of the Miraculous Medal assures of a share in a treasury of Masses and prayers. A novena of Masses is offered each month at Our Lady’s Shrine. Perpetual members also share in all other Masses and novenas of Masses which are said for members of Our Lady’s Association—a total of 57 Masses monthly for as long as the Association endures and the Shrine in Perryville remains as its center of prayer. In addition, they also share in other Masses and novenas of Masses whenever these are offered for members.
Father Kevin’s letter tells more. Perpetual membership can be that “perfect gift” for Baptisms, birthdays, Confirmation, wedding anniversaries, get well wishes, or in sympathy. Enroll yourself or someone else today!

Espousal of Mary Novena of Masses
Send your petitions to be remembered during AMM’s annual novena of Masses celebrating Mary’s espousal to Saint Joseph. The novena begins January 14 at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Our Lady and Saint Joseph are our models of holy living, especially as we face life’s daily difficulties. Mary and Joseph trusted in God’s plan for their marriage and family.
You are invited to burn a Votive Light as a sign of your faith-filled trust in God’s plan for you. Your intentions will be placed near Our Lady’s Altar here at the National Shrine throughout the novena and on the actual feast day, January 23. During the novena, join us in praying for the protection of all unborn children and that the many respect for life events across the United States are successful in changing hearts and minds to recognize the sanctity of human life. Mary and Joseph are our models of how to welcome the gift of life, no matter the circumstances.
