May Procession Draws over 800 visitors to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal

On Sunday, May 5, spiritual pilgrims from near and far traveled to Perryville, Missouri, to honor Our Blessed Mother during the annual May Procession. See a few pictures from this years May Procession at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.

Spiritual Director Father Clay Kilburn, C.M., led the pilgrims in a solemn procession from the Shrine Church to Mary’s grotto while praying the Rosary. There, a heart-shaped display created with thousands of rose petals received from Association members was presented to Our Lady. A crown of flowers was placed upon her head.

After the May Procession, a Spanish Mass with live music was held inside the National Shrine Church.  Vincentian Father Prudencio Rodriquez was the presider.  All in attendance received an investiture in the Miraculous Medal.

Members’ petitions were placed near Our Lady’s Shrine Altar after the procession where they will be lifted up in the daily Mass and prayed for throughout the month of May. You may add your special intentions for remembrance this month here.
