Lent Begins Wednesday, February 18

“Be merciful, O Lord, for we have sinned.” – Psalm 51

Every year across the globe, millions of Christians observe the 40-day Lenten season, a time when we are called to a spirit of repentance for having failed to heed God’s will. During Lent, we seek to turn back to the Lord with our whole heart. Through prayer, fasting, and good works, we demonstrate our resolve to be transformed “from the inside out” through God’s mercy. Our Blessed Mother is a perfect guide for us along this daily journey to Easter. Join fellow AMM members who are choosing one or more of the following ways to help them experience a spiritually rewarding Lenten journey:

Send your special intentions to be placed near Mary’s Shrine Altar

Request a Votive Light to burn

Pray this Ash Wednesday prayer

Pray this prayer for Lent each day

Request Easter Cards to send to loved ones

Through our Lenten acts of sacrifice, prayer, and charitable works, may Our Lady obtain for us the graces we need to live more fully in the light of Christ, who saves us through his holy passion, death, and resurrection.

“A clean heart create for me, O God, and a steadfast spirit renew within me.
Cast me not out from your presence, and your Holy Spirit take not from me.”
Psalm 51:12-13

By the early 1400s, the word “rosary” sprang […]
