Keeping Christ in Christmas

Years ago, most Christmas cards our family received at home pictured something of Bethlehem and Our Lord’s birth.

How different things are today! Jesus shares the spotlight with Santa, Rudolph, snowmen, and simple “Happy Holiday” wishes.  Snow-covered landscapes seem more common than traditional nativity scenes.  Pictures of children and pets fairly outnumber those of the Holy Family. (Not that family portraits aren’t precious in their own right, of course.) But Jesus is the reason for the season, and his birth should be emphasized.

To help keep Christ in Christmas, every year the Association of the Miraculous Medal sends out nearly half a million beautiful Christmas cards to faith-filled members.  Representatives from almost every department of our staff participate in selecting the spiritual cards. They come from our hearts first to then be sent to your loved ones from your heart. They are our way of drawing hearts and minds more fully to “the reason for the season.”

These cards offer more than the season’s greetings. They offer your chosen recipients the gift of prayerful remembrance and the assurance of Mary’s intercession.

Specifically, your loved ones will be remembered during an octave of Masses beginning on Christmas Day — and during a weekly Mass celebrated here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal throughout 2026.

Please send the names of your loved ones before December 19 to have them placed at the Shrine for remembrance in our prayers at the Christmas Midnight Mass.

If you would like more cards, request as many as you need now. Or call us at 1-800-264-MARY (6279), Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., CT. Be sure to make your request by November 11.

Any charitable offering you include with your reply will support AMM’s year-round ministry. Gifts enable us to distribute more than two million blessed Miraculous Medals every year, drawing the world closer to Jesus through devotion to Our Blessed Mother.

We are here to remember you and your intentions, too –– in every season of life.

May God bless your efforts to serve him, and may he draw you ever closer to himself. O come, O come, Emmanuel!

Yours in the Holy Family,

P.S. Please request extra Christmas cards by November 11, to help ensure you receive them in time to mail out. And remember to send me the names of loved ones you’d like us to pray for this Christmas and throughout 2026.
